After reading that this place had great food and friendly service, we made the trek out here. We called ahead to see if the Labor Day holiday caused any changes in the hours, and we're told that it did not. We sat down and waited. A woman came out of the bathroom and stopped, looking at us as if to say,"are you kidding me?" And proceeded to tell us that they couldn't offer the whole menu as they were " closing in like 20 minutes." (It was 7:26) We would not have had any problem with this if 1. We'd been told that the menu would be limited after 7 pm when we called to ask, and 2. If the server had been friendly and apologetic for the limitations. Instead, she acted annoyed that we had dared come in wanting food after 7 pm. So, we left and will share our experience.
We had a coupon and called before going there to ask if we could use it. Yes. Again when we got there before ordering we asked. Showing the coupon Yes again. When we went to pay they said no. Stay away. The owner was exceptionally rude, and this business does not honor their word. Additionally, the service was slow and the food average.
Been coming here for burgers since I was a toddler. Love this place!
The Trestle Inn is great! It's probably the most remote restaurant in Minnesota. We did a day-trip to The North Shore and ate here for lunch. The food is great, but what really made the Trestle Inn unique was its' rustic character. It's a hidden gem in the northern forests of Minnesota. You just have to see it for yourself. I would definitely recommend making the drive up after a good days-worth of hiking and grabbing a burger.
